Haka is the Maori to New Zealand Dance. Displays of weaponry and combat meet the grace and beauty of dance. Experience an indigenous culture over 1000 years in the making.
I think this movie also a part of NZ culture, because it is one of the national New Zealand movies.
Kiwi is the national animal and we also call New Zealander as Kiwi..
Cambodia has a multi-multicultural and rich histories from the past, it has been heavily influenced by Indian and Chinese culture since the 1st century. Clothing is one of the most important aspects of Cambodian's culture. Khmer (known as Cambodian nationality) fashion has changed depending on the time period and religion that people follow.
According to Khmer history, Cambodians have produced many kinds of cotton and silk. Different textiles are considered to be markers of identity, prestige, wealth, and also represent their status within the society. Sompot(unisex skirt/blouse) is the national garment. The pattern of men and women 's clothing is different. In the olden days, Cambodia have 3 garments of Sompot that they classify in classes.
*Sompot Chang Kben: was worn by upper class such as Royalty and socialite families for both basic daily and special occassion wear like weddings or religious ceremonies. They wore it by wrapping the cloth around the waist and pulling it from the body, then securing it with the gold or silver belt. Nowadays this skirt is used in the wedding ceremonies by the brides and grooms.
*Sompot Phamoung/Hol : was worn by middle class such as business people, professors. It has more than 200 patterns and was influenced by Indian Patola silk cloth. Nowadays it is worn by people who join the wedding party or any occasion.
*Sompot Sarong: were worn by the lower class such as famers and slaves in the olden days. It is made of cotton and easy to wash. Today people wear it in everyday life and it is also represent goods toward foreign tourists.
The motivation that has made me choose this topic, because i wanted to preserve that is a part of Cambodian heritage and try to protect the history as my ancestor had passed on. In the beginning of the 20th century, Cambodians has adopted the form of western style clothing such mini skirts, jeans, trousers and blouses. A big part of traditional clothes started to be lost after French colonization in 1860s. The younger generation is getting confused and forget their own identities and minority of them choose to wear trendy style.
My Own Reflection About NZ Society And Cultural
HAKA
Haka is known as NZ national dance genre. This is picture is shown that All Black team perform HAKA before the game starts.
Because of
the fast development of New Zealand society and culture forward over 50 years,
both custom and tradition have constantly changed sometime in good ways or
getting more worse. New Zealand has heavily influenced by British and American
Culture.
In the olden
old, Haka was a war dance. Most people had seen the Haka performed as a
pre-battle challenge to their oppositions. There are many variations between
the types of war dance, the common feature is what they are all performed with
weapons. War parties were composed by males, although female tribal members
were not exempt from this activity.
In the
modern days, New Zealanders have grown accustomed to the use of the Haka by
sporting teams. They thrill to the spectacle of the All Blacks forming ranks
prior to kick off. The modern All Black perform the Haka with passion and
pride. They have a reclaimed the dignity and mystique attached to this
traditional art form and in the process, increased its recognition as an icon
of New Zealand.
In
conclusion, Haka is known as one of Maori to New Zealand national dance genre. The Haka has become a unique form of national expression. Today, Haka has changed the meaning from war dance to a warm welcome dance for all nationalities tourists who visit New Zealand or Aoteorou.
Sky Tower
This is my picture where i took it just in front of Sky Tower. It was such a chilly and overcast evening. It was drizzle for whole day.
I took this picture ages ago while i was walking pass it and on my way back home.
For task 4, I selected sky tower as my research topic. It is such a significant building Where located in Auckland central. It is the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand. And it was not that easy topic to find out more perception to complete. As I used to live in apartment which nearby sky tower , I was really enjoyed the colour of the tower. I have been visited there many times. The interesting fact about sky tower is: Sky tower height has 328 metres, which means about 37 buses tall.. It is one of the 12 tallest towers in the word. It is even taller than Effiel tower in Paris or APM tower in Sydney.
I organised my self to go city by my own car. At that time, It was freezing and it had gone down to 10 oc , so I didn’t walk around much . Even though I went there many time , I have never realised the amazing facts of Sky tower. I have found lots of information from the receptionist and I am looking forward to tell my classmates about what I have found out. What is more, i also asked one of the receptionist lady for the short record during i was asking her a few questions. I asked her for the permission before i record her voice. She was really welcoming and helpful to me . It was such a good moment that i had spent time talking to her.
To hear the conversation that i have recorded between the person who works in the sky city.

Evidences Of Visited Art Place
This picture is shown about old metal toy car, the artist has drawn and painted . Look amazing! The artist said it took ages to paint this one out . he had to take a picture with the reflection, plan to draw it out, and paint it .
Actually it hasn't done yet. The artist said it needs more time to complete and be patient what are you going to do.
The artist allowed me to take pictures around her rooms and he has shown me his book that he published recently.
His name is peter miller , New Zealand artist , was born in Matamata. His main job is an artist . He is also work as a yoga teacher and as a builder.
I went to visit his office where located in Victoria Street in order to ask his permission to record his yoga tutorial for my task 6. So it is a good opportunity to research more about my tasks. Peter Miller is an New Zealand artist , he was born from Matamata. I asked him a lot of information from his experiences back then. Peter Miller is another of the artists profiled here who can be described as 'Late starter', or as having come to notice in this century after engagement with other activities. He began part-time art study in 1993, focusing mainly on life drawing, and continued his studies through to a painting diploma.
Although Miller has covered a range of subjects, including accomplished figure studies and still life, he has made his reputation by painting just one subject - old metal toys. I was very interested talking to him. His motivation is allow me to understand more about art and be socialise with people. i spent 2 hours talked to him and i might go and see him again one day.
Reflective Writing about this Blog
I have done a lot of information for this task. I went to Sky Tower and Visited Art room Where are both places located in Auckland central. I Talked to Peter Miller who is one of New Zealand artist. I also talked to the receptionist who works in the Sky city.
I enjoyed doing this task as well tried to find information to complete this blog. The main point is talk to people and ask them questions whatever come out from your mind. Also it is gained your general knowledge about people society.
